>From Greg Hanisek
  3/23 Watertown, Lake Winnemaug - 1 male BLUE-WINGED TEAL; 2 HORNED GREBES
also 35 Wood Ducks, 2 American Wigeon, 15 Ring-necked Ducks, 1 male Canvasback, 2 Hooded Mergansers, 12 Common Mergansers
in lakeside tree, subadult Bald Eagle with Raven sitting about 4 feet away croaking and squaking; crows reduced to spectators
Note: Blue-winged Teal is usually the last of the regular migrant waterfowl to show up in spring and the least likely to be present in winter; the Horned Grebes are molting and (as pointed out by Nick Bonomo earlier) they're going to be showing some odd transitional plumages; this is prime time for spurious reports of Eared Grebe
