On the fruit and nut seed bell today, a female hairy woodpecker, large and in fine feather. She ate in two feedings for about 15 minutes each time. First one we have seen here in five years.

Also coming to the feeders and the (very popular) bell every day: five white-throated sparrows, one white-crowned sparrow, one red-breasted nuthatch, three normal-color and one leucistic WB nuthatches, 10 to 15 juncos, several male and female downies, cardinals and a couple of very argumentative and vocal Carolina wrens.
