Hi All,

Spent a really good morning with a group of birders from across the state and a few from outside of it. Highlight of the trip was again the number and variety (13 species) of ducks at the Aspetuck Reservoir in Easton including 1 EURASIAN WIGEON, 3 NORTHERN SHOVELERS, 4 Ruddy Ducks and 1 Green-winged Teal. The Hemlock and Saugatuck Reservoirs were in comparison?almost dead. Outside of the waterfowl we had 2 Black Vultures, 3 Fox Sparrows, 1 Yellow-bellied Sapsucker and of course some Purple Finches. Although it was chilly it was a great day to be out. Not so much luck finding winter finches on the walk, however I did have a flock of 15+ Common Redpolls fly right over me at about 7.15am at the Mill Pond in Westport.

Regards,
