Around sunset yesterday I saw what I believe was an
imm. white form Snow Goose on Lake Quassapaug. With
the fading light I can't be positive that it wasn't a
domestic goose of some kind but I've never seen a
domestic that looks like that. It was swimming with 4
Canada Geese and did appear smaller in size than them.
It had a dark bill, whitish underparts and
grayish-white upperparts. I saw black near the tail
which may have been a piece of the folded black
primaries showing.

During the last few days I have observed 7 waterfowl
species on the lake, Mallards and Am. Black Ducks
being the most numerous species. About 750
Ring-billed Gulls were on the lake at sunset yesterday
which is few hundred more than normal and is the most
I've ever seen during my checks of this body of water.
Admittedly, I only am able to bird there a few times
a year and I count conservatively. On Thanksgiving at
sunset there were about 500 Ring-billeds.
