Subject: [CT Birds] "Tis the season"- the rarity one!
The Common Ground Dove, nicely flanked by some Cave Swallows kicked things
off in CT in tremendous style. However, with a perched Lesser Nighthawk
reported and photo'd in Cape May today (the first mid-Atlantic record??) and
a Bell's Vireo in Rhode Island, there is surely something of a south-western
flavor lurking out there in the wilds of CT.
With Christmas Counts on the horizon, it will pay to keep an eye open for
any 'out of season' species, since there may be a chance it could be
something better.
