11/27 Batterson Pond, New Britain 4 PM

Stopped at Batterson Pond on my way home from work:

75+ Common Merganser
100+ Gulls, mostly ring-billed, couple Greater black-backed
15-20 Coot
few Mallard
few Ruddy ducks
3 Bufflehead
2 Great blue heron
1 Kingfisher
numerous Canada geese on beach
many Crows

Speaking of crows, the skies are dotted with thousands of crows morning and
night over Hartford. Main roost seems to be the trees near I-84 west of
Hartford near the Trinity school curve between Exits 44 and 46 although
tonight I noticed quite a few in the trees near Aetna on the north side of
the interstate. They seem to leave Hartford to the north in the morning and
are returning from the north in the late afternoon.
