Hi Folks
Some observations on wrens in winter. For some reason I regularly
get House wrens on the CBC's
Habitat is a good clue to distinguish between Winter Wren and and
House Wren. It has been my experience that House Wrens prefer wet
and more field areas in winter, a marshy pond. over grown stream bank
etc. Winter Wrens prefer more woody thikets, a brushy woodpile a
stone wall etc.
Remember this is a clue, there are always exceptions.
