Nature Center parking lot:
~50 Horned Larks
1 Snow Bunting
4 Lapland Longspurs
 
Moraine Trail, east end, very low tide:
3 Common Goldeneye - 2 M, 1 F
1 Common Merganser male
13 Surf Scoters
~20 Ruddy Turnstones
~25 Sanderlings
sandpipers on barely exposed sand spit to the left 
6 Harbor Seals hauled out on the farthest  rocks
 
No loons sighted
I was surprised to find that virtually all the tidal marshes at  the east end 
and the 2 ponds at the end of the road were completely iced  over.  I thought 
that water had a higher salt content.
