[CT Birds] 35 Red Crossbills at Hammonasset

12/07 - Madison, Hammonasset Beach State Park -- 26 RED CROSSBILLS in the pines near the West Parking Lot, 1 COMMON REDPOLL,  7 LAPLAND LONGSPURS near the nature center, at least 6 FOX SPARROWS in cedars at south end of camping area.  Lots of waxwings, unid finches and robins flying around camp area before 9 AM.

East Haven, Proto Drive -- 1 COMMON REDPOLL, COMMON RAVEN, WHITE-CROWNED SPARROW.

Derby, downtown -- 2 BLACK VULTURES.

Derby, on River alongside rt 34 above dam seen from small shopping center west of Yale Boat House (between F Street and Cedric Ave). -- 3 REDHEADS, 2 drake at least 1 hen with Ring-necked Ducks.
