[CT Birds] A Gathering of Species

It appeared that birds were congregating at Hammonasset's "Warbler Tree" (the 
large white oak on the middle trail near the bench at Willard's Island) for a 
last meal before the impending storm.
 
At around 10:00 we saw an unusually large combination of different species on 
the tree itself and on the surrounding cedars. The highlight was a 
white-winged crossbill, but there were also robins, cedar waxwings, house finches, 
yellow rumps, flicker, red bellied woodpecker, downy woodpecker, chickadees, and 
others.
