[CT Birds] WatchList and State of the Birds Coverage in NY Times

PS  I forgot to mention that we had a PURPLE FINCH up in Goshen, but that is pretty much to be expected up there.

Also had a male PURPLE FINCH at the Bent today and they have been getting pretty scarce of late.

Finally, had a Pileated Woodpecker calling in the neighborhood in Meriden yesterday, so that previous sighting wasn't as much of a fluke as I thought.

PPS  Re Grebes, yes we get grebes in the winter...Pied-billed, Horned and Red-necked.  Occasional others.
