[CT Birds] ducks in Stonington; Rocky Neck

12/11 - I decided to bird three of my favorite spots here in southeastern CT 
today.   Here is a quick summary:

Enders Island, Stonington:
             30+ long-tailed ducks
             15 surf scoters
             12 red-breasted mergansers
             6 buffleheads
             2 common loons
             38 seals !!

the cove at St. Mary's Cemetery (Rt. 1), Stonington:
             40+ hooded mergansers
             40+ buffleheads
             3 common goldeneye
             6 greater scaup
             10 red-breasted mergansers
                   also present: black ducks and mallards

Rocky Neck State Park (campground area only), East Lyme -- in the cedar trees 
next to the "Crane" restroom:
             5 eastern bluebirds
             6 yellow-rumped warblers
             4 cedar waxwings
             2 American goldfinch
          juncos, house finches, white-throated sparrows, and robins were 
omnipresent.  also, overhead: 1 red-tailed hawk
