[CT Birds] Silver Sands

12/12/07 -- Milford, Silver Sands SP --150 Dunlin, 150 Sanderling gathered on far end of tombolo with a few hundred gulls; 6 Bonaparte's Gulls hanging out with a group of about 20 Red-breasted Mergansers; 8 Horned Larks.   Other recent Silver Sands sights: Merlin chasing White-throated Sparrows; Turkeys munching on bittersweet high in trees; at twilight thousands of gulls following shellfish boats; Goldeneye raft building in numbers--about 300-400.
