12.12.07 Connecticut Audubon Society EcoTravel - Coastal Birds of Eastern Connecticut Field Trip
Starting in Waterford and moving east to Mystic, highlights of the day included 100+ BONAPARTE'S GULLS, 4+ NORTHERN GANNETS, 1 COMMON EIDER (female) in the mouth of the Thames River along with SURF, WHITE-WINGED and BLACK SCOTER, 4 BRANT, 3 RING-NECKED DUCK and 10+ BLACK VULTURE at Smith Cove off of the Thames River, 4 SNOW GOOSE at Eastern Point in Groton,1 PIED-BILLED GREBE in the Poquonock River, and a flock of 15+ AMERICAN TREE SPARROW, and 200+ HOODED MERGANSER across the day.
