12/15 Somers Hutton Rd. 1 SNOW BUNTING
On my way home from helping with the CBC in Manchester, I drove down Hutton
Rd in Somers to check the snow fields for my Horned Larks. They had moved
from the north field on the east end of the road to the south field on the
west end of the road. This field has vegetation standing about a foot above
the snow, so the 70+ Horned Larks were running through the plants and
periodically jumping up to shake some vegetation and dropping back down to
the snow to feed on whatever they dislodged. At one point about 30 of them
landed in the road in front of me and in the middle of the flock was 1 SNOW
BUNTING.
