[CT Birds] about Redpolls

Looks like a pretty classic common. As has already been mentioned by
Nick I think, structure is one important field mark. The face is often
very distinctive with a "Pug" look to it... The face looks sort of
flattened compared to a common. The back is also "usually" frosty in
appearance compared to a common. A Common Redpoll having a whiter
breast than others around him is fairly "common".
Here's a few shots of a Hoary I made a couple of years ago in NH
where a friend of mine had up to 3 of them visiting along with a flock
of 100-150 Common Redpoll. When I get time I'll look back and see if I
have any images to add that shot the classic "frosty" back too.
