Dear Birders,

Norwalk's Intrepid Birders ventured out into the cold, sleet, rain,
and winds sustaining at 30 miles an hour (in some parts) all day.
Towny and myself had a wonderful day enjoying counting the birds and
taking part in another years Christmas Bird count. Despite the
atrocious weather, we managed to get a decent number of species
including 1 AMERICAN BITTERN, 1 ROUGH-LEGGED HAWK adult light morph,
1 PURPLE SANDPIPER on small island nearby with scope., all at
Manressa Power Plant. 2 AMERICAN COOTS on Water Street, 1 AMERICAN
KESTREL next to Maritime Center by park & landfill. 1 BROWN THRASHER,
1 BROWN CREEPER, 1 CATBIRD, behind the Norwalk Community College, 1
EASTERN TOWHEE at Cemetery. 2 BLUEBIRDS male & female, 1 GOLDEN-
CROWNED KINGLET at Dolce (former GTE).

Its a wonderful feeling to know and reflect on this past year the
good we all have observed and done for those fluffy creatures "The
Birds" among other creatures too. Towny and I have had such a grand
time meeting new folks and spending time with old friends. As always
we look forward to the next year with more surprises visiting our
Nutmeg state!

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year to All!

Cheers,
Mardi & Towny Dickinson
East Norwalk
