[CT Birds] Milford Point

12/20/07 -- Milford Point, CACC, Francis Steet spit (aka Piping Plover spit) at low tide -- 30 Horned Larks, 8 American Pipits, 1 Lapland Longspur.  No loons or grebes: would anyone care to comment on the low numbers of these birds in the past 10 (?) days?  At the NHBC dinner remarks were made about a lack of bait fish in the Sound.
