I suspect many folks are driving around with a GPS unit in their vehicle these days, as well as a map.  Many Garmin GPS units (and probably other brands) can not only give you the street/road name you are one, but also have the capability to give you the coordinates of where you are in latitude and longitude.   Might help to use your GPS and to pass on the location's coordinates
when there are common names to roads or the same road changes names as it passes through various towns.
