[CT Birds] Red Crossbills at Hammonasset

Madison, Hammonasset State Park, West Beach  parking area (8 - 9:30 AM) -- 
11+ RED CROSSBILLS, 3 RED-BREASTED NUTHATCH
The  car access to West Beach was blocked this morning though the road was 
fairly  free of ice.  I walked in from the East Beach lot suspecting there would 
be  something there and I was pleased with how easy the Crossbills were to 
see. The  birds were working the line of pines along the edge of parking lot.
