[CT Birds] Redpolls a comin?

I reported last week that there had been Common Redpolls in my yard for
about 2 weeks, starting with 4 or 5 and building up to around 20. For a few days
after I wondered if all or most had left, since I saw very little of them
and only a few at a time. However, today after a very light snow last night
(less than an inch) shortly after daylight I had over forty of them swarming
my feeders. I'm sure there were more than that but I have 4 nyjer feeders
and they go back and forth constantly so an accurate count is impossible. I
now think their appearance here is at least in part weather related - it was
very mild and mostly sunny last week. I don't have any idea of course whether
they are same birds, different birds, or both, but the pattern has changed
from a few almost constantly at the feeders to a large group and then none at
all. I don't believe I ever had as many at 1 time during the 1st two weeks as
I did this morning. The flock I had of 40 to 50 Goldfinches is mostly gone,
driven off by the wolves aka Redpolls I think. Even though I have been
lucky enough to have that many birds in my yard, I must say that I have not
really seen them that many other places, and I have spent a fair amount of time
birding recently. Hopefully this adds a little info for Paul's question.
