Thanks to Roy Harvey's post of 1/2/08 I was able to ID the new bird at one of my feeders as a Hoary Redpoll. I had decided to utilize one of the hanging flower pots that had remnants of a Fuscia plant still in it. I have added some grapes and then filled it with sunflower seeds. This make shift feeder sits next to a thistle feeder and it was the flower pot that the bird was sitting and eating. It was here for at lest an hour and then gone. I made sure to fill this feeder last night (along with all the others) so that if one or more of these delightful visitors came back they would be welcomed with plenty of food.
Pat.
