[CT Birds] Blue jay numbers up

Our jay numbers are definitely up - 13 being the highest count so far for one weekend. The crows are coming back as well. During Project FeederWatch, my highest crow average was 3.7 for the 2002-2003 season. This dropped to 0.1 from November 2003 to April 2005; in the 2005-2006 season, we had no crows in our yard. So far this season, the average is 2.4, with the highest count being 5. (Is this like having "2.5 kids"? Averages can sound so silly...) I also counted a flock of 12 crows down the street, a sight unseen for a long time.
Our finches haven't stuck around in any great numbers this winter, but the wild turkey flock has reached its second highest average since I started counting for PFW 8 seasons ago: 25.4 birds on average, 43 highest count. And there's still plenty of winter left...

I too have noticed more Blue Jays, both at my feeders and during the CBCs. Perhaps Crows have rebounded a little too?
