[CT Birds] Snow Bunting and Horsebarn Hill Report

Horned Larks continue at the north end of HBH in the Cornfields north  
of the Kellog Center.  The road immediately west of Kellog heads south  
along the lower slope of HBH - Sparrow Hawk continues here - search  
the tops of the posts - had a mouse today.

Still no signs of Pine Grosbeak on campus - no signs of Waxwings  
either.  I drove through Eastern Connecticut in Willimantic the other  
afternoon - many berry bearing trees around campus.

Following the exchange on Hoary Redpolls - in many of the photographs  
referred to (see links below) the Hoary's have a wing droop that  
exposes the rump.  The ones I saw in West Hartford in the early 1980's  
irruption had this wing droop and clear rump.
