[CT Birds] Northern shrike - Washington, CT

Thought Peary Stafford would have reported this by now, but did not see any report from him this AM.  Seen yesterday (Jan 5) by Peary and BK Stafford, Olaf Soltua, David Babington,  ET El  an adult northern shrike at the Macricostas Section of the Steep Rock Preserve in Washington, CT. The bird was watched between about 3:30 to about 4:20 PM. The bird was on the north edge of the large open farm field at Macricostas. Parking for Macricostas is on Christian Street, off RT 202 in Washington, CT behind a large red farm house. Follow the trail from the parking lot to the field and follow the trail around the north end of the field. Also seen here yesterday were a number of purple finches along the farm field
