Orange backyard
The flock of house finches has increased to about 25, with about 4 having
the house finch eye disease. I have been spreading seed in different
locations, however I do notice lots of droppings all around the feeders, my deck and
trees where the birds feed. Short of turning over the soil of my lawn, I
don't know how to really clean up this large area, since there are soooo many
birds here. the house finches, house sparrows and large flock (about 25) of
juncos hang around all day.
I have a very vocal Carolina wren who has been singing all morning into
early afternoon. Do they normally sing through the winter?
There were 3 downies, 1 hairy, 2 red bellies, about 30 house sparrows,
Carolina wren, mourning doves, 4 resident titmouses, 6 resident chicadees,
4 blue jays, 2 cardinals and the sharp shinned hawk which makes an
appearance once or twice a week.
**************Start the year off right. Easy ways to stay in shape.
