In the town of Orange, last year there was a vote to preserve  a portion of 
land near a local farm, for open space.
It was very controversial, but it did pass.  However  there were accusations 
by the losing votes that there were deals behind the  scenes which  benefited 
certain individuals and the spectre of the tax  issue also hung in the air.
I was just happy that the issue was passed to protect the  property.
