Hi All,

For any of you Big January birders I thought it may be of interest to know that there was a Ruby-Crowned Kinglet (helps to know the call as it was chipping and kind of singing but took about half an hour to get views of the bird) and 2 Common Ravens at Huckleberry Swamp, off of Chestnut Hill Rd in Redding.

Just out of interest for the Western Tanager has anyone thought of scattering some seed somewhere sensible in the camp ground (Is this allowed in State Parks?) and seeing whether it might be enticed out by this, they do seem to come quite readily to feeders on the east coast.

Regards

Luke Tiller
