[CT Birds] Pine Grosbeaks +

     On the way up to and back from Dutchess County NY from Darien for the 
long weekend I checked out the reported Pine Grosbeak locations. There was 
nothing at Kent Falls State Park and the crabapples were abundent but quite large. 
Today here were three Pine Grosbeaks (1 male and 2 females) at Shepard Road in 
Norfolk. Still some small fruit left. At the industrial park in Winsted two 
NY birders said they had seen a flock earlier in the day that a truck flushed 
and then they said they later saw four birds come and leave quickly. Lots of 
fruit at this location but also lots of human activity. On the way to Norfolk 
there was a kettle of 28 Black Vultures over the center of the town of Canaan.
