Today at the Salmon River Boat Launch in East Haddam, we watched several Bald Eagles. One mature Bald Eagle sat in a tree for a long time, up on the Salmon River side, and two immature Bald Eagles sat in trees on the Connecticut River side. One of the immature took several swipes at some mergansers in the water, but didn't seem too serious about it and sat up in one of the trees again.
Across the Connecticut River (at the Bald Eagle Landing State Park, I believe it's called) we watched two Bald Eagles, one sitting in a tree and the other doing a fly-by.
Back across the river and in the parking lot behind the Goodspeed, we watched about 15 Bluebirds working around in the trees and brush. Also, spotted a Kinglet but couldn't get a good ID to figure out if it was a Golden-crowned or Ruby-crowned.
