At 11:00 this morn, I Think I might have had a Hoary Redpoll, but need some help.
Within the 30 or so daily redpolls, was a new one. This one was a bit brighter from all the rest (stood out) on back, and had very few very light obscured side stripes, with clear white under tail covs, and clear rump with a ting of light pink! It was a male in full color, but lighter rose on chest and cap. The only drawback to making a conclusion was - the bill was about the size of Commons. I did read that Hoary bills can be like a common's in length though.
I tried for a pix, but they all flew off before I got back, and as of 4:00, I have had up to 10 birds visit each Hr, with this question bird missing. Darn - need your input please...
Also - I have been getting 1 to 4 Pine Siskins regularly since Dec, anyone else getting Siskins?
