[CT Birds] Hammonasset W. Tanager, OC Warbler, Bittern

1/31/08 -- Hammonasset SP, usual campground sites -- on ground & in trees: Western Tanager (11:45 & 2:20), Orange-crowned Warbler, 2 Pine Warblers, 2 Fox Sparrows; also Red-breasted Nuthatch.  Many Yellow-rumped Warblers, Black-capped Chickadees, Cedar Waxwings, Juncos, Robins (including partial albino) in the trees and on the ground.  At nature center parking lot: 81 Horned Larks with 2 Lapland Longspurs (nice chestnut napes); also American Bittern walked crossed blacktop from pond/blind area & hid 5 feet from side of road (orange-red tongue).
