Survey # 132 3 Feb 2008

The sky was clear and the water flat at full high tide.

The Loons again were scattered off shore while the Horned Grebes were
close to shore. The Long-tailed Ducks were clustering and starting
courtship displays. The ponds in the golf course were frozen and had
gulls roosting on them. Sundays are dog days on the beaches. The
harbor was unfrozen, which contained the Hooded Mergansers and most
of the geese. With the warm weather, it seems the puddle ducks moved
back inland. The one Great Blue Heron left as well. The gulls were
mostly roosting, there were one Immature Ring-billed Gulls and 4 im.
Herring Gulls making up 0.58% and 2.8% of the birds respectively.
