The PBS special on Red Kots and horseshoe crabs was so  informative and so 
disturbing. I am not a scientist, but how  individuals can think (or not think) 
that harvesting millions of horseshoe crabs  will have no impact on wildlife 
or the environment or their own fishing  industry, is beyond me.  DuPont is 
making an artificial bait for the eels,  so what happens when the eels are all 
fished out, or if this artificial bait has  contaminants that have not yet been 
evaluated.
I was so upset hearing the woman speak about these delicate  birds and how 
she holds them in her hands...that if people could make that  connection to 
nature, it would affect them all.  And then when the  scientists go to the Arctic 
to count the Red Knots there, and they can't find  any................
Please someone....shake some sense into the collective  conscience of this 
world.
