The Crossbills were still present in the west end pines. In the AM I saw
them between 9:30 and 10:30, after which they disappeared. Checked back about
1:00 PM and did not find them, but tried again at around 3:00 PM and while
sitting in the car, observed about 10 birds fly in. I watched them briefly,
but after about 10 minutes I could not find them again. In both the morning
and afternoon I never saw them fly away as a flock.
The Orange-crowned Warbler, Pine Warblers, and all the usual suspects were
present in the campground, but I saw no sign of the Western Tanager.
