Located 7 miles north of Long Island Sound in Madison. I have had 12-20 Goldfinch regularly at my feeders since fall. No Redpolls at all, although I have had them in some past years that they came down. Had a small number of Pine Siskin (3-4) very early in the winter for a couple of days then nothing. Another person feeding in North Madison had a similar "flyby" of Siskins and no Redpolls.

Well my Redpoll flock is up to 60 birds - guess most made it through the ice storm - though my neighbor had a dead one on his deck.
Also still have 3 P Siskins. They prefer to feed away from the Redpolls, and are super belligerent towards the later when around them. I also still see and hear a pair in courtship - bill feeding and much song. Will keep in touch on their actions.
But I am in question on GOLDFINCH.............
I have had daily for over 7 weeks now, Redpolls and Siskins, but have had not ONE GOLDFINCH! So who is getting all the Goldfinch here in CT?
Are they concentrated in southern CT? Anyone getting large numbers of Goldfinch here in CT?
Just wondering - Paul Carrier
