[CT Birds] Bald Eagle weekend

Saturday afternoon around 4pm, I was driving on HWY22 in North Haven, on the overpass going over Hwy 91 when I saw a mature Bald Eagle. It was so close and low that even my husband and two kids got a really good look at it. It was very exciting because it was so unexpected. I've also never seen a mature Bald Eagle in CT.

Ironically, I took the whole family to the Eagle Festival today and neither kid saw an eagle because they couldn't figure out how to look through a scope. But we had a great time watching the Birds of Prey demonstration and the story time with owls. What a great festival!
