Survey # 134

The was tide high and the water calm.

Off shore there were pairs of Long-tailed Ducks flying back and
forth. Goldeneye were in pairs dotted along the shore. The same goes
for the Great Black Backed Gulls. The lone White-winged Scoter was
there in its place and had three guests near by. The ponds in the
golf course and the harbor were partially frozen. The Geese and
Hooded Mergansers were inside Southport Harbor in the open spaces.
There were no Bufflehead today! The gulls were mostly roosting. I’ve
noticed one immature Great-black-backed Gull is sporadic in the area.
It has only been seen at high tide at the mouth of Sasco Creek.
There were 4 Immature Herring Gulls making up 3.1% of the birds.
