>From Bev Propen 2/19 Orange backyard

At 1:25PM a sharpie sky-rocketed through my yard, angling and banking in
hot pursuit of some small bird (too fast to see it). The sharpie missed its
meal and landed in the backyard by the stone wall at the base of a tree. It
sat there for 10 minutes, tilting its head and observing its surroundings. It
watched a gray squirrel hop by. It then flew into my forsythia hedge, as I
watched the birds (mostly house sparrows, chickadees and house finches) in the
hedge hopping around and the blue jay was screeching from a nearby tree.
This sharpie (I assume the same one) makes its rounds in my yard usually once a
week, although as I look at my NHBC winter yard count sheet, I haven't
marked it down for 3 weeks now.
