[CT Birds] Farmington Birds

I should have reported that last week (2/15?) I had two grackles at my Farmington feeder. And I saw a Red-Winged blackbird in the median on Rt 9 in Farmington on Sunday 2/17. And a Turkey Vulture tipped and soared near Farmington High School lat week. Yesterday, a fine pair of Pintails was feeding in a puddled field by the Farmington River, and today I had a chance to witness an aerial ballet by our resident Red-Tailed Hawks.

As you can tell, I don't get out much beyond Farmington! But that's OK. As part of my personal effort to slow climate change, I've resolved not to make special trips to see birds, but I will add birding stops to my previously-planned trips and errands (such as the birds noted above). I know I will miss out on a lot of birds in and around CT (Pine Grosbeaks, Western Tanager, etc. etc. - haven't seen them) but can I really justify burning all that gas and emitting more air pollution in order to MAYBE see a bird? Food for thought.
