Dear CT Birders,
The Environment Committee is racing towards tomorrow's deadline for introducing bills to be considered this Session. Audubon is urging the Committee to raise a bill that will improve enforcement of the CT Endangered Species Act (CESA) by creating a municipal check-off from the Natural Diversity Database at the local commission level whenever a development is proposed.
We need your help make sure this happens!
PLEASE EMAIL OR CALL COMMITTEE CO-CHAIRS - - SENATOR ED MEYER AND REPRESENTATIVE DICK ROY - - TODAY and ask them to raise this bill in the Environment Committee tomorrow.
-Be polite and thank them for all their work on behalf of the Environment.
-Congratulate Senator Meyer on his appointment to the co-chairmanship. If you are a constituent, let them know.
-If you are a local board or commission member, let them know.
-Use any local examples you may have or consult the attached fact sheet for examples (plain text in a separate email).
-Thank them for their past support by requiring applicants to supply a copy of NDDB map relevant to their proposal to local land use commissions as part of their application. Fact sheet will be sent in a separate email and contact information is below.
