Internationally renowned artists to exhibit at Wood Memorial Library in March

Treacy Ziegler and her husband, Gary Weisman, will be showing their paintings and sculpture in the Gallery in the Wood from March 8 through April 7.
The show, with Treacy's paintings of birds, interiors, and landscapes, and Gary's classic bronze sculptures, arose out of Treacy's interest in Wood's Dwight E. Newberry mounted bird collection. Last winter, Treacy emailed Wood and said that the Ornithology Department at Cornell University had suggested she come to South Windsor to see the collection at Wood.
Inspired by the Cornell and the Wood collections, Treacy created a large number of bird paintings, which were featured last month in Migration, a major exhibit in Boston at the Chase Gallery on Newbury Street. Many of the paintings in the Boston exhibit will come to Wood, together with landscapes and interior paintings that Treacy has made.
The two award-winning artists have shown in large urban galleries, including the Odon Wagner Gallery in Toronto, the F.A.N. Gallery in Philadelphia, Berry-Hill Galleries in New York City, the Principle Gallery in Alexandria, Virginia, the American Cultural Center in Taipei, Singapore Art International and Sentec International Center in Singapore.
Their works are in major individual, corporate and museum collections.
Weisman completed a life-size bronze statue of Mark Twain for Elmira College and is working on a commission from the College for a statue of Olivia Langdon Clemens, Mark Twain's wife.
A Meet the Artist reception, with wine and cheese, and music, will be held at Wood on Sunday, March 30 from 5 to 7 PM.
