[CT Birds] Black Vulture

Frank/Miley,

I can personally attest to Frank's comment as I take my 3 year olds to
Earthplace nearly every weekend. The Black Vultures are usually either
sitting right on top of any one of the raptor enclosures, or sunning
themselves in one of the trees surrounding the area. Spend 1/2hr there
and you're almost assured to see them. Last time we were there one of
the Great Horned Owls was hooting, much to my daughter Jemma's delight
as up until that point she's only heard it from books, and daddy.

Miley,
I'm told that several black vultures hang out at the
raptor cages in Westport at Earthplace. Apparently
they have been doing so for quite a long time,
sometimes joined by turkey vultures. They wait for
food scraps. Perhaps your BV has found a new diner.
