[CT Birds] Crab Apples and Pileated

Lots of crab apple trees still loaded around here - on Rte 202 in northern  
New Milford and in Roxbury - surely a matter of time before the Pine Grosbeaks  
join the robins.
In my yard in New Milford yesterday a pileated woodpecker was eating  
something in a multiflora rose thicket.
