Amazing the numbers of EVENING GROSBEAKS being seen just north of CT ---
I have a friend Joyce, who lives just outside Keene NH, and has been
getting from 20 to as many as 80 EVENING GROSBEAKS at her feeders DAILY for most all this winter. From there south, straight as the Grosbeak
flies, it is only about 60 miles to Enfield CT.
So why are we not getting them this winter in some numbers here in CT?
I would guess they are not here caused by the lack of Ash tree seeds in CT, plus the ones that have been seen here were just wandering about looking for better feeding grounds - yes?
