TITLE:  Bird Banding Technician (Part-Time)

AGENCY:  University of Arkansas

LOCATION:  Bent of the River Audubon Center, Southbury, CT

JOB DESCRIPTION:  Part-time banders are needed to recapture and mark Prairie Warblers, Blue-winged Warblers, Field Sparrows and Indigo Buntings.


DUTIES:  The qualified applicant will be available to work 5:30am-10:30am, 5 days per week from June 2-27 (dates somewhat flexible).  No housing is provided.


QUALIFICATIONS:  Applicant must have a valid driver's license. Must be capable of working cooperatively during early mornings and under moderately adverse field conditions (poison ivy, ticks, walking through wet vegetation)   Banding experience is preferred but not necessary.  Must be available for training sometime the week of May 12-16, 2008.  Other work schedules can usually be accommodated.  This is a good opportunity for local banders who want to gain more experience.

SALARY:  $10/hour

STARTING DATE:  June 2, 2008 (flexible)

ENDING DATE:  June 27, 2008 (flexible)
