Hi Folks

Been Catching up on my field notes and e-mail

Someone (I deleted too soon) asked about Great Cormorants.

I also found them in smaller numbers as well this winter. . At The
Breakwater of Bridgeport Harbor 10 or more birds could be regularly
found with numbers in the 20's during migration. This winter I have
seen 5 or less birds. Wednesday I saw 10 but now is migration time.
My Southport Survey used to get 4 -6 birds. This winter I had 1 to 3
birds.

On the survey they stopped becoming regular after 10 March and my
latest record is 5 April.

While we are on the subject.

For Double-crested Cormorant my earliest date 19 March and they
became regular after 23 March.

(note these dates for for the survey. DCCo are now a regular winterer)
