Way back when, when I was in college, I went to visit a buddy who lived in
Easton. His mother was very religious and had actually written several books
on Catholicism. My friend was in the process of introducing me to her when a
large hawk swooped low over our heads and snatched up a large snake from
their yard. The hawk screamed and slowly flew off as the snake coiled and
twisted in its talons. The mother was extremely shook up as she was deathly
afraid of snakes because of their biblical role.
When she found out I was not religious she took this incident as a symbol
sent from God that she was supposed to save me. This she did with great
vigor every time I met her since.
That's my hawk story and I'm sticking with it.
