[CT Birds] hammo 3/11/08

The campground had many more birds today than over the last  couple of 
months.  However, mostly the usual suspects.  There were at  least 2 Pine Warblers, 
and a large flock of Monk Parakeets feeding on the ground  in the early AM.  
The pond at the entrance to the west end had 5,  apparently all male, 
Canvasbacks, as well as Black Ducks and Hooded  Mergansers.  At the reclaimed marsh 
east of the rotary and at the nature  center lot there were a total of 8 Killdeer.
I pair of Common Goldeneye off the end of the Moraine  trail.  I didn't see a 
single Surf Scoter.   The American Bittern  was by the pond at the Meigs Pt 
east end parking lot.
