Female GHO's incubate the eggs for 30-37 days. She rarely leaves, and is fed
at night by the male. The nestlings will branch when they're about 6 weeks
old; about a week after that, they can fly a short distance, getting better
over time.
Yet another question answered by: Hawks and Owls of Eastern North America,
by Donald S. Heintzelman (pub. 2004). Great resource! And how wonderful, to
be able to see nesting GHO's.

I have been observing a Great Horned Owl nest for about a month now. I have
not seen any young owls yet but the female is still sitting on the nest.
Does anybody have any idea when I can expect the young owls to start to
